The Liberty Ranch is a unique recovery program for alcoholics and addicts. It comes from a long tradition of structured programs dating back before 1987. Our structure offers people the chance to live happy, healthy, and productive lives by giving them the tools to do so, and teaching them how to implement those tools into their daily routines. The Liberty Ranch helps residents realize the change that is possible. Its structure is designed to teach the residents the truth about themselves, gain self acceptance, and provide alternative courses of action to change behavior. This is a process that is both inspirational and motivating, and utilizes the 12-step principles as its guide.

Attendance at 12-step meetings is crucial to on-going sobriety and residents attend six to nine AA meetings per week, and sponsorship is mandatory. Our structure also includes community meetings held on Tuesday & Thursday nights. This meeting is where residents learn about themselves and the process of recovery as it pertains to them as individuals.

Family Meeting is help on Saturday morning and the family members are encourage to attend it they are able to. This is where the relationship between the resident and the family is focused on while outlining problem areas in their relationship. Once these destructive patterns are recognized and accepted, a solution for the entire family is presented, which utilizes 12-step principles. Family members will have the support from the family members as well as staff. They are also encouraged to start building their own support group outside the facility by attending Al-Anon meeting locally, or in their hometown.

Because The Liberty Ranch is situated on a 70 acre ranch in South Central Kentucky, we are able to grow vegetables annually and sell them at local markets, as well as utilize as food for the facility. The residents are expected to work on the ranch and participate in all activities. This has proven to be one of the strong points of out program, and teaches residents how to work together as a team. All residents that work on the ranch are paid a fair wage, or receive a discount on monthly fees.

Weekends at The Ranch consist of 12-step meetings, Family Meetings, barbeque's, fellowship, and family interaction while enjoying recreational activities such as volleyball, swimming, and horseshoes. The Liberty Ranch also owns a small dinner nearby, and residents go there on Saturday nights to sing karaoke, play pool, and enjoy sober entertainment.

The facility maintains a full time resident manager for operations. The managers responsibilities include driving residents to and from doctor appointments, and to 12-step meetings. Presently, there are two 12-step (NA & AA) held on site and are attended by the recovering community.
